Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government has officially begun the process of selecting distinguished individuals for its proposed Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC).
This commission is expected to bring about significant changes in public administration and governance across the state.
The selection committee for the ARC, chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, held its first meeting on Thursday.
State Law and Justice Minister Kento Jini and Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng were also in attendance.
“Their contributions and insights were highly appreciated,” an official said.
Chief Minister Khandu emphasized the importance of thoughtful leadership and inclusive dialogue in building strong institutional frameworks. “This is a crucial step in our journey towards administrative efficiency and meaningful reforms,” he stated.
The proposed ARC, once formally constituted, will be entrusted with a vital mandate to review the existing administrative structure, recommend measures to enhance public service delivery, and streamline governance mechanisms across departments.
The state government first announced the formation of this commission in November last year. Since then, groundwork has been underway to ensure that only competent and experienced members are selected to guide the commission’s vital work.
