Itanagar: Air cargo operations have resumed at Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar, after a temporary suspension following the shift to the newly inaugurated terminal building, an official said on Tuesday.
A statement issued by Arunachal Pradesh Civil Aviation minister Balo Raja’s office on Tuesday said the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) regional director has conveyed to Donyi Polo Airport director and Indigo Services manager about approval for resumption of air cargo services.
The restoration of air cargo operations is expected to boost trade and logistics connectivity in the state.
On October 24, the Arunachal Pradesh Department of Trade and Commerce raised concerns over the challenges faced by registered and participating MSMEs in dispatching consignments for the upcoming India International Trade Fair 2025 in New Delhi, scheduled from November 14 to 27, due to the suspension of air cargo services.
In response, Civil Aviation Minister Balo Raja promptly wrote to the Donyi Polo Airport director, urging immediate restoration of the facility. Following the minister’s persistent efforts, the BCAS regional director granted approval and security clearance for resuming cargo operations on Tuesday.

Airport director P. Narendra confirmed that Indigo Airlines has completed all necessary preparations, and air cargo services have now been reinstated with immediate effect.
