Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (retd) presented the Bharat Scouts and Guides Rajya Puraskar to 69 scouts and 92 guides during a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
Congratulating the recipients, Parnaik, who serves as the chief patron of the Bharat Scouts and Guides State Association, commended their dedication, hard work, discipline, and commitment to community service.
According to an official statement from Raj Bhavan, he emphasised that the award not only recognises their efforts but also serves as a reminder of their responsibility to continue serving with even greater enthusiasm.
The Governor encouraged the scouts and guides to uphold the core values of discipline, service, and patriotism, urging them to work towards a stronger, united, and prosperous India.
He also highlighted the important role of the Bharat Scouts and Guides State Association in nurturing young minds into responsible citizens and future leaders.

Parnaik further advised school students to participate in the scouts and guides movement, noting it as an excellent platform for developing leadership skills, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.
“The nation stands on the shoulders of its youth,” he remarked, adding that as scouts and guides, they embody the spirit of ‘nation first.’
The Bharat Scouts and Guides movement, which began in Pasighat in 1948 with just 24 boys, has grown significantly, now comprising 877 units across 439 schools with a membership of 13,183.
