Itanagar: Farmers in Arunachal Pradesh are set to receive financial assistance amounting to Rs. 226.46 crore under the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN), officials announced.

This installment is part of the central government’s continued effort to support the agricultural sector and enhance the livelihood of farmers.

Nationally, around Rs. 22,000 crore is being directly credited to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers under this installment of the scheme.

Each eligible farmer will receive Rs. 2,000 as part of the annual Rs. 6,000 financial aid provided under PM-KISAN, distributed in three equal installments throughout the year.

The funds were released during a program held in Bhagalpur, Bihar, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially transferred the financial assistance to beneficiaries.

The initiative was lauded for its significant contributions to boosting the agrarian economy.

Officials highlighted the scheme’s transformative impact, emphasising its role in improving the financial stability of farmers and promoting innovative farming practices.
