Itanagar: 38 students from remote regions of Arunachal Pradesh have cleared the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination, thanks to a dedicated coaching initiative by the Indian Army.
The coaching programme, launched by the Army’s Gajraj Corps, ran from July last year to April and aimed to prepare students from Jang and Dirang areas in West Kameng district.
Of the 44 students who participated, 38 successfully qualified for admission into the prestigious Sainik Schools, according to defence spokesperson Lt Col Mahendra Rawat.
The initiative was designed to bridge educational disparities in underprivileged and geographically isolated communities.
It offered not only academic instruction but also motivational and personality development support.

“Army instructors went beyond academics—instilling confidence, discipline, and a sense of purpose in these young aspirants,” Lt Col Rawat said.
He added, “This is more than just an exam success story—it’s a story of determination, guidance, and opportunity. These 38 students are now role models for many others in the region, proving that talent in even the most remote areas can flourish when nurtured.”
