Itanagar: Acclaimed actor and theatre personality Adil Hussain has been named the festival ambassador of the Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2025.
Hailing from Goalpara in Assam, Hussain is known for his versatile roles in acclaimed productions such as Life of Pi, Hotel Salvation, English Vinglish, and Star Trek: Discovery.
His journey from regional theatre to global cinema embodies the very essence of the festival, and his presence is expected to greatly inspire young talents across Arunachal Pradesh.
Hussain has earned recognition at major international festivals, including Venice, Toronto, and Berlin. He received a Special Mention at the National Film Awards for Mukti Bhawan and the Best Actor Award at the Nordic International Film Festival in New York for his Assamese film Maj Rati Keteki.
The Arunachal Rang Mahotsav 2025 will feature 32 plays by artistes and theatre groups from across India and abroad. Scheduled from November 23 to December 6, 2025, at the DK Convention Hall in Itanagar, the event will showcase a vibrant confluence of art, culture, and creativity.
The theatre festival serves as a platform for performing arts, cultural exchange, and social change.
Organized by the Arunachal Pradesh government, the festival features a diverse range of local, national, and international theatrical productions, highlighting both the region’s cultural heritage and global artistic traditions.
