KOHIMA: BJP President JP Nadda praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Neiphiu Rio for their strong leadership, crediting them with driving significant changes in the region.

Addressing an election rally organised in support of the PDA consensus candidate, Dr Chumben Murry, in Chumoukedima, Nadda underscored Modi’s visionary outlook for the Northeast.

Highlighting that PM Modi’s vision for the Northeast goes beyond the Act East Policy, Nadda said that Modi’s agenda positions the Northeast as a pivotal gateway to Southeast Asia with focus on trade and commerce as cornerstones of regional prosperity.

Nadda lauded Modi’s paradigm-shifting approach to governance, citing his commitment to decisive leadership, doorstep delivery of services, and holistic development policies.

Highlighting key infrastructure milestones achieved during BJP’s tenure at the Centre, Nadda hailed the establishment of Nagaland’s second railway station in a century as characteristic of the government’s dedication to bolstering connectivity and accessibility.

Highlighting the steps taken across various sectors, including healthcare, automobile exports, and infrastructure development, Nadda painted a picture of burgeoning progress under the BJP rule.

In a scathing rebuke of the Congress party, Nadda accused the erstwhile regime of pursuing divisive policies that hindered the state’s growth trajectory.

He lamented the Congress’s neglect of development opportunities, attributing Nagaland’s developmental setbacks to the party’s “myopic agenda focused solely on electoral gains”.

Chief Minister Rio, who was also preset at the rally, echoed Nadda’s sentiments, lauding the Modi government’s efforts in advancing negotiations, culminating in the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position.

Rio hailed the collective resolve of Nagaland’s legislators in championing the Naga people’s aspirations for a lasting solution to the region’s longstanding issues.

Commending Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah for their inclusive leadership, Rio underscored the BJP’s alliances with small parties across 18 states as a testament to the party’s commitment to minority representation and secular governance.
