GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) hosted the Guwahati Half Marathon as part of its annual Techno-Management fest, Techniche, on Monday.
The event, held at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium, Sarusajai, saw an impressive turnout of over 4000 enthusiastic runners from Guwahati city and beyond Assam, uniting to run for a cleaner tomorrow.
The Guwahati Half Marathon featured two categories – the “Spirit Run” spanning 6 km and the challenging “Glory Run” covering 21 km.
Under the theme “Run for a Cleaner Tomorrow”, participants demonstrated their commitment to environmental consciousness and community engagement.
Kicking off at 5:15 am, the “Spirit Run” set the pace, followed by the prestigious “Glory Run” at 6:15 am.
Participants exhibited remarkable resilience and determination as they navigated the course, embodying the values of health, sustainability, and solidarity.
Samyak Sharma, Convener of the Guwahati Half Marathon, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation, stating, “We are thrilled to witness such massive participation in the Guwahati Half Marathon. It’s inspiring to see individuals from all walks of life coming together to promote fitness and environmental awareness.”
The Guwahati Half Marathon not only promotes physical well-being but also advocates for environmental stewardship. As participants crossed the finish line, they left behind a trail of motivation and commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Notable nutritionist and influencer Shweta Himatsingka graced the event as the star runner, adding to the excitement and energy of the Guwahati Half Marathon.
