Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday said brave Indian Army soldiers will give a befitting reply if anyone tries to transgress along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Responding to Defence minister Rajnath Singh’s statement in the Parliament on the clash between Chinese PLA troops and Indian Army jawans on December 9 at Yangtse in Arunachal Pradesh, Khandu said it is not easy to do anything wrong along the Chinese border because of the ‘brave soldiers’.
About 300 Chinese PLA troops, on December 9, had tried to get access to the top of a 17,000-ft peak along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at Yangste near Tawang.
The Chinese troops also wanted to uproot an Indian Army post. The attempt by the PLA soldiers was thwarted by Indian Army jawans.
Khandu on Tuesday tweeted: “Yangtse is under my assembly constituency & every year I meet the Jawans & villagers of the area. It’s not 1962 anymore. If anyone tries to transgress, our brave soldiers will give a befitting reply.
