Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has become the latest addition to the roster of imprisoned AAP members in Tihar Jail in the national capital.
Kejriwal’s confinement is set to extend until April 15, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which had custody of him since his arrest on March 21 in connection with an alleged scam, hinting at the possibility of seeking his custody again in the future.
Joining his fellow party members, Kejriwal will be housed in Tihar’s Jail No 2, alongside ex-deputy Manish Sisodia in Jail No 1, former Health Minister Satyendar Jain in Jail No 7, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in Jail No 5.
Under the routine of the prison, Kejriwal’s daily schedule commences at sunrise, around 6:30 am, wherein he will receive tea and a modest breakfast comprising a few slices of bread.

Following a morning shower, he will proceed to attend court hearings or engage in discussions with his legal team.
Lunch, served between 10:30 and 11 am, includes a serving of dal, a subzi, and either five rotis or rice. The midday hours, from noon to 3 pm, entail confinement within the cells.
At 3:30 pm, prisoners are provided with tea and biscuits, followed by legal consultations at 4 pm. An early dinner, mirroring lunch, is served at 5:30 pm, after which inmates are secured for the night by 7 pm.
During leisure hours, Kejriwal will have access to television programming, barring scheduled prison activities. A selection of 18 to 20 channels, spanning news, entertainment, and sports, are permitted.
Medical facilities, staffed by doctors and personnel, remain available round-the-clock to address any emergencies. Given Kejriwal’s diabetic condition, he will undergo regular health assessments throughout his detention.

Kejriwal’s confinement follows the arrests of AAP members, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and K Kavitha, in connection with an alleged Delhi liquor policy scandal that has roiled the political landscape.
Additionally, Satyendar Jain faces charges in a separate money laundering case.
Earlier today, a Delhi court ordered Kejriwal’s judicial custody until April 15 in connection with the aforementioned money laundering case, further intensifying the unfolding political drama ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
