In a dazzling ceremony held in Mumbai, India, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic emerged victorious, clinching the coveted title of Miss World.
The event, held on Saturday night, saw 112 contestants from around the globe vying for the prestigious crown.
Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon secured the first runner-up position in the competition, adding to the fervor and excitement of the evening in India’s financial and entertainment capital.
Expressing her elation, Pyszková remarked, “Being crowned Miss World is a dream come true. I am deeply honored to represent my country and the values of ‘beauty with a purpose’ on a global platform.”
The crowning moment unfolded at the Jio World Convention Center, where Pyszková graciously accepted the crown from the reigning Miss World, Karoline Bielawska of Poland.
Amidst cheers from the audience, she waved to the enthusiastic crowd and shared heartfelt embraces with fellow contestants.
The event not only celebrated beauty but also showcased India’s rich cultural tapestry, featuring vibrant displays of tradition, heritage, arts, crafts, and textiles.
Contestants adorned themselves in intricately embroidered attire, captivating the audience with graceful performances to popular Bollywood melodies.
This year’s Miss World pageant marked a significant milestone as it returned to India after 28 years, captivating the imagination of viewers worldwide.
India’s own representative, Sini Shetty, made a commendable impression, advancing to the final eight contestants.
India has a storied history at the Miss World pageant, with six previous titleholders, including Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).
The 71st Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by acclaimed Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines, adding an extra layer of glamour and charm to the grand spectacle.
