Guwahati: A woman met with a tragic end after falling from a tall residential building on Saturday morning in Central Guwahati’s Rupnagar area.
Officials of Bhangagarh Police Station told Northeast News that the lady fell from the eighth floor of Block II of the Houshfed Complex at Rupnagar.
The victim has been identified as Sunita Devi, and she died on the spot. She was rushed to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where the doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
Police officials have started a detailed investigation into the case and the circumstances surrounding the fall from the building still remain ambiguous.
Police officials refused to comment, and said it is too early for them to come to any conclusion. While the body has been sent for post mortem examination, forensics experts are also investigating the case.
The incident has left the community in Housefed Complex in a state of shock, and the police have also started speaking to the residents of the building.
