GUWAHATI: In a move to prioritise the health and well-being of frontline workers and staff members of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, a free eye care camp was organised within the sanctuary premises.

A total of 67 frontline workers and staff members availed the eye check-up services provided by a team of skilled ophthalmologists led by Dr Madhurjya Gogoi from Apollo Excel Care hospital.

Organised by Aaranyak, in collaboration with the Guwahati Wildlife Division of the Assam Forest Department, the team, supported by additional specialists from GATE Hospital, including Faijun Nessa, Gitanjali Das, Jitendra Barman, Rahul Sarkar, and Amit Barman, delivered commendable services during the camp.

Nayan Das, the Range Officer of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Aaranyak and the entire team of eye specialists, particularly acknowledging the invaluable contribution of Dr Gogoi.

He also underscored the significance of such initiatives in promoting the well-being of the dedicated frontline forest staff and workers involved in safeguarding the precious wildlife of the sanctuary.

Dr Gogoi, in turn, extended sincere thanks to Aaranyak for spearheading this noble cause. He highlighted the importance of such health camps in addressing the healthcare needs of frontline workers who often operate tirelessly in challenging conditions.

Representatives from Aaranyak, including Dr Deba Dutta, Manas Kr Bhattacharjya, Jayanta Pathak, Madhumita Barthakur, and Ujjal Bayan, played essential roles in ensuring the seamless execution of the eye care initiative.
