In an awe-inspiring incident, a monkey made a “holy” entrance into the sanctum sanctorum of the newly consecrated Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a day after the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla.
Around 5:50 pm on January 23, the curious primate, seemingly undeterred by the sacred aura, gracefully entered through the southern gate and approached the revered idol of Lord Ram.
The security personnel stationed outside, initially alarmed by the unexpected guest, rushed towards the monkey, concerned it might cause harm to the sacred idol, as reported by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust.
Contrary to expectations, the monkey, instead of causing any disruption, elegantly traversed the sanctum before calmly heading towards the northern gate.
Faced with a closed gate, the creature gracefully changed its course eastward.
Navigating through the throngs of awe-struck devotees, the monkey peacefully exited through the eastern gate.
In a social media post, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra expressed the incident, “Today at around 5:50 pm, a monkey entered the sanctum sanctorum through the southern gate and approached the Utsav idol. The security personnel, fearing any harm to the idol, rushed towards the monkey. However, the monkey calmly headed towards the northern gate. Finding it closed, it turned towards the east, passed through the crowd, and exited through the eastern gate without causing any trouble. Security personnel say that for us, it is as if Hanuman Ji himself has come to see Ramlala.”
This divine escapade left many devotees interpreting the event as a manifestation of Hanuman’s continued guardianship over Lord Ram and a blessing upon the newly consecrated temple.
The Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ram Temple in Ayodhya took place on January 22, a significant ceremony attended by a sea of dignitaries and devotees.
The monkey’s visit adds a mystical layer to the unfolding narrative of the temple’s consecration, leaving devotees marvelling at the symbolic connection between Hanuman and Lord Ram.
