As anticipation and religious fervour grip Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, the historic city is all set for the much-awaited Pran Pratishtha or consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in a few hours from now.
Tight security measures are in place as celebrities, dignitaries, and a massive congregation of devotees converge in the temple town for the momentous occasion on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who initiated an 11-day “anushthan” leading up to the grand day, is slated to participate in the rituals on this significant day.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s office confirmed, “The PM will participate in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Shri Ramlalla in the newly built Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya at around 12 noon.”
Being the chief “yajamana” at the ceremony, PM Modi is expected to enter the Temple complex through the eastern gate.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will engage with shramjeevis (workers) associated with the construction of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir.
Later, he will also pay a visit to Kuber Tila, where the ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv has been meticulously restored.
The ceremony will witness a unique spectacle as helicopters will conduct a “pushp varsha”, showering flower petals on the temple.
