A 38-minute video featuring Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy, shot on November 17 at a Savar venue, was broadcast on two pro-Awami League television channels on December 1 to make it appear to be a live show.
Sajeeb Wazed arrived in Dhaka from the United States, via Dubai, on November 17 evening. It is not known which airlines he flew to reach Dubai. What is, however, known is that he took Emirates flight EK586 which landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport at 6:20 pm on November 17.
The next day he reached the Jahangirnagar University campus at Savar to confer prizes on youngsters on the occasion of the Joy Bangla Youth Awards ceremony.
This programme began around 11:30 am BST. However, before this programme began, Sajeeb Wazed Joy interacted with the hostess of another programme Let’s Talk With Sajeeb Wazed.

The programme was organised by the Centre for Research, an Awami League front organisation led by Radwan Mujib Siddiqui, the son of Sheikh Hasina’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana who lives in the UK.
Northeast News is in possession of a video clip that shows Sajeeb Wazed, surrounded by a few Special Security Force (SSF) personnel, being ushered onto the stage by the hostess Sharmin Chowdhury.
The duo walked up to the stage and took their respective seats. The cameras would have started rolling shortly thereafter. This video was shot by a source at the venue before the Joy Bangla Youth Award ceremony.
The broadcast (on December 1) of the video on Somoy TV and NTV News, both said to be pro-Awami League, is not puzzling at all, even though the purported aim was to show that Sajeeb Wazed Joy was in Bangladesh at that time.
Many puzzled viewers called Northeast News to ascertain whether Sajeeb Wazed Joy was still in Bangladesh although the available evidence suggests that he left Dhaka by Emirates flight EK583 which took off at 9:55 am on November 23.
While it is believed he took a flight from Dubai to United States, the Northeast News cannot confirm what carrier he flew from the UAE city or which airport in America he landed and when.
