Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Government has carried out a major reshuffle in the state police force, transferring and posting 27 senior officers drawn from the Indian Police Service and the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service cadres.
According to an official notification issued by the state Home Department, the transfers were ordered by the Governor following recommendations made during a recent meeting of the Police Establishment Board.
As part of the changes, senior IPS officer Chinmoy Biswal has been appointed Inspector General of Police (Security/Crime).
Joy Tirkey has been given additional charge as Deputy Inspector General (Headquarters), while IPS officer Mangesh has been posted as DIG (TCL).
The reshuffle also involves new postings of superintendents of police in several districts. Akshat Kausal has been appointed SP of Tirap district, replacing Aditya Singh, who has been transferred as SP of Longding district.
Shivendu Bhushan, previously SP (Crime), will now serve as SP of East Kameng district.
Among other key appointments, Sandhya Swamy has been posted as SP of Kra Daadi district, while Pankaj Kumar will serve as SP of Dibang Valley district.
Swati Singh has been appointed SP of Pakke Kesang district, and Tasi Darang will take charge as SP of Tawang district.
D W Thungon, who earlier served as SP Tawang, has been transferred as SP of West Kameng district, according to a report.
In other postings, Achin Garg has been named SP (Crime), while Anjitha Chepyala will head the SP SIT/Cyber Crime unit.
Dekio Gumja has been appointed SP of the Special Task Force, and Sepraj Perme will serve as SP for SDRF, Home Guards and Civil Defence.
The notification also stated that several officers have been designated as commanding officers of different Indian Reserve Battalions and the Arunachal Armed Police Battalion across the state.
Officials said the large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and reinforcing the law and order mechanism in the state.
