Itanagar: The Assam Rifles on Sunday conducted a humanitarian outreach programme at Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district, distributing artificial limbs to specially-abled persons in the region.
According to an official statement, beneficiaries from Tirap district and Longding district were identified in coordination with district authorities and provided with prosthetic limbs.
The initiative was organised under Operation Sadbhavana, with the aim of supporting individuals with physical disabilities by improving their mobility and overall quality of life.
Officials said the assistance would help the beneficiaries move more freely and lead more independent lives.

“Through such initiatives, the Assam Rifles continues to contribute to the socio-economic upliftment and well-being of the local population in Tirap district,” the statement added.
Authorities further noted that similar humanitarian outreach programmes are organised periodically in the region to address humanitarian needs and strengthen community support.
