Guwahati: At least four people were killed and 10 others injured after a passenger bus lost control and hit a roadside tree in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Saturday morning, officials said.
The accident occurred at Lakkhijan under the jurisdiction of Bokajan Police Station when the bus was travelling from Moirabari to Dimapur.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Barek, Khalil Rahman, Chabina Sultana and Alal Uddin.
According to a senior official, the vehicle reportedly lost control while trying to cross a bend and rammed into a tree by the roadside. Four people, including the driver, died on the spot in the accident.

Police personnel soon reached the site of the accident and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination.
The injured passengers, including a child, were taken to a hospital in Dimapur for treatment, the official added.
