Singer-songwriter Papon recently chose an uncommon mode of travel for a celebrity, taking a train from Surat to Mumbai after completing a performance.
The singer shared glimpses of the journey with his followers on Instagram on Thursday, posting a video that showed him strolling through the Surat railway station before boarding the train.
Notably, he was seen carrying a Gamosa, a traditional symbol of Assamese culture that reflects his roots.
During the trip, Papon appeared to reflect on memories of his childhood, recalling the simplicity and joy of earlier days.
The video also captured scenic views from the moving train as it passed through stretches of countryside.
Captioning the post, he wrote, “Train journeys are the best,” along with the hashtags #TravelWithPapon and #Dhaage.
The singer, known for popular tracks such as Bulleya, Jiyein Kyun and Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, had earlier shared another personal milestone on social media.
Recently, Papon celebrated 22 years of marriage with his wife Shweta Mahanta.

Reflecting on their relationship, he added that although they have been together for 29 years, their life continues to be filled with adventures, laughter and everyday moments.
Papon began his musical career in 1998 with the Assamese track Nasaba Sokule from the album Snigdha Junak.
He later released his debut album Junaki Raati in 2004.
His entry into Bollywood came in 2006 with the song Om Mantra, while the 2011 track “Jiyein Kyun” marked his first major breakthrough in Hindi cinema.
