Itanagar: Two soldiers of the Indian Army, including a Naib Subedar, lost their lives after a military vehicle plunged into a ditch in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, a defence official said on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Saturday (March 7) near Reddi village, close to the India–China border, when the vehicle was travelling from Gelemo to Taksing on operational duty as part of Operation Snow Leopard.
The army personnel who died in the accident were identified as Kulwant Singh, a Naib Subedar of the 908 Field Regiment under the 56 Artillery Brigade, and Pradeep Kumar Sharma, a Naik of the 18 Sikh Regiment and a resident of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
Another soldier, driver Amarjeet Gujjar of the 908 Field Regiment, sustained minor injuries in the accident.
He is currently undergoing treatment at the Field Hospital in Borarupak and is reported to be out of danger, the official said.
