The Left Front in Tripura announced that it will contest all 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.
The list of candidates was also unveiled, introducing 22 new faces for the polls.
Additionally, the coalition also named its candidate for the Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency, which fell vacant following the death of former Speaker and MLA Biswabandhu Sen last month.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, Left Front convener Manik Dey said the party was prepared to contest the elections strongly, describing the polls as “significant for the region”.
He further alleged that corruption was rampant under the current ruling party in the council, citing irregularities in administration and failures in delivering basic services such as education and drinking water.

Dey said, “When the Left was in power in the ADC, we delivered exemplary governance. This election is crucial, and we will fight it with full strength. Under the current ruling party, corruption is widespread, and pensioners are not receiving their dues.”
He also alleged that several irregularities were taking place in the council administration and claimed that basic services such as education and drinking water were in poor condition in areas under the council.
Calling for free and fair elections, Dey claimed that electoral processes have not been conducted properly since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state.
