Authorities in Dimapur have declared Nagaland’s Chumoukedima district a temporary “Red Zone” (No Fly Zone) on March 6 in view of an upcoming VVIP transit visit.
As per an order issued by Aotula T. Imchen, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the restrictions will remain in effect from 6 am to 6 pm on March 6, 2026.
Invoking powers under Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021, and Section 163 of the BNSS, 2023, the order prohibits the operation of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), drones, or any similar aerial devices within the district during the specified period.
In addition to the airspace, the order also bans all forms of firing practice by security forces, civil police, central police, private firing ranges, or licensed civilian firearm holders.
The bursting of firecrackers has also been prohibited between the given time tomorrow.

Officials said the measures have been introduced as a precautionary security step in view of the VVIP movement through the area.
As the notice cannot be served individually to all concerned, the order has been issued ex-parte due to security considerations.
Authorities stated that the notice will be disseminated through the media and displayed on notice boards at police offices and police stations to inform the public.
