Three young women from the Northeast were crowned winners of the 22nd edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2026 at a grand finale held in Guwahati, marking another milestone for one of the region’s most prominent beauty and empowerment platforms.
Stella Rica Khongsni from Meghalaya, Leimapokpam Ghanapyari Devi from Manipur, and Tenzing Choden Sherpa from Sikkim were jointly declared winners of the pageant.
In keeping with the competition’s progressive format, the three titleholders will share equal honours and responsibilities during their reign.
The 22nd edition of the pageant featured an extensive audition process across all eight Northeastern states, conducted both online and on-ground.
Hundreds of contestants participated, with shortlisted finalists undergoing an intensive grooming and mentorship programme in Guwahati ahead of the grand finale.
The final round assessed participants on various parameters including poise, intelligence, confidence, personality and stage presence.
Conceptualised by fashion entrepreneur Abhijeet Singha, the pageant is produced by Mega Entertainment and marketed by Mega Activation.
Over the years, the platform has aimed to promote women’s empowerment in the region while creating opportunities for young women from the Northeast to enter national and international fashion and pageant circuits.
Congratulating the winners, Singha said the 22-year journey of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East reflects the resilience and aspirations of young women from the region.
He noted that the three winners represent not only beauty but also strength of character and cultural pride, adding that the platform has consistently enabled participants to represent the Northeast on global stages.
The newly crowned winners will receive professional representation, advanced grooming support, brand endorsements, public relations advisory and national-level exposure. They will also be considered for international pageant representation and global fashion platforms.
Several special awards were also presented during the event.
Phurpa Drema from Arunachal Pradesh was named Incredible India Mega Miss Tourism 2026, while Sarah Malsawmtlungi from Mizoram received the Nilkamal Miss Popular title.
Tenzing Choden Sherpa was also awarded the Coca-Cola Miss Refreshing Beauty title, and Sanu Kumari from Assam was conferred the Sunsilk Sway Icon title for her distinctive style and stage presence.
The event was supported by Sunsilk as the title sponsor, with Nilkamal as the furniture partner, Coca-Cola as the beverage partner and Trends as the fashion partner.
The pageant was also supported under the Incredible India banner, highlighting the cultural diversity and global potential of the Northeastern region.
The grand finale combined fashion, performances and cultural representation, reinforcing the role of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East as a significant platform that continues to inspire young women from the region to pursue opportunities on national and international stages.
