Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday flagged off five new vehicles for the Excise Department, aimed at strengthening its operational capacity and mobility.

The five Mahindra Bolero Camper (Pick-up) vehicles were procured under the State Plan for the Excise Department to enhance the department’s operational capacity and mobility.

Adding the new vehicles will strengthen enforcement, including action against illegal liquor trade, and improve the Excise Department’s overall efficiency.

Flagging off the vehicles from the CM Secretariat, the Manipur Chief Minister reiterated the government’s firm commitment to safeguarding the youth from the menace of drugs and ensuring a healthier state.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said, “Pleasure to flag off five vehicles of the Excise Department today, strengthening our ongoing campaign against the use and trafficking of prohibited substances.”

“These vehicles will enhance field surveillance, interception, and seizure operations, reinforcing our commitment to safeguarding our youth and ensuring a healthier, drug-free Manipur. Reaffirmed our resolve to build a forward-looking and healthy society through firm enforcement and collective responsibility,” he added.
