Poet and author Savita Jain launched her latest poetry collection, Teesra Jahan, on February 28, at the Gandhi Darshan Art Gallery, in the presence of prominent literary figures, cultural personalities and invited guests.
The book presents a sensitive and powerful poetic narrative centred on the lives, struggles and resilience of the transgender community.
Through its verses, Teesra Jahan explores themes of identity, dignity, acceptance and humanity, seeking to bring marginalised voices into the mainstream social and cultural discourse.
Former Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Uday Kumar Verma, attended the event as chief guest.
In his address, he underlined the importance of inclusive storytelling in literature and stressed society’s responsibility to uphold the dignity and rights of every individual.

Addressing the gathering, Savita Jain said the book goes beyond poetry, describing it as a journey into understanding exclusion, courage and self-acceptance.
She expressed hope that the work would help build bridges between communities and encourage empathy and meaningful dialogue.
The launch programme featured poetry readings, reflections by literary critics and interactive sessions with the audience.
The event concluded with a collective call for greater compassion and inclusivity in society.
Teesra Jahan stands as a literary tribute to the transgender community, reaffirming the role of poetry as a tool for social awareness and transformation.
