Agartala: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan is set to inaugurate the 14th convocation ceremony of Tripura Central University at its Suryamaninagar campus in West Tripura on March 8, a university official confirmed on Monday.
The event will be attended by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Manik Saha, Varsity Chancellor Ahmed Javed, and Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Shyamal Das
Acting Registrar Prof Sameer Kumar Shil stated that the convocation will honour meritorious students from the 2024 and 2025 academic sessions. Gold medals will be presented to first-rank holders in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. A total of 145 students from the 2024 batch and 138 from the 2025 batch are slated to receive awards.

In addition, doctoral degrees will be conferred on 149 research scholars during the ceremony.
Shil noted that the convocation had not been conducted over the past two years, affecting students awaiting formal certification. The upcoming ceremony will facilitate the distribution of certificates to eligible students, addressing the difficulties they have faced due to the delay.
