A tragic accident in Arunachal Pradesh’s Shi-Yomi district early on Sunday morning claimed the life of one person and left three others were seriously injured after the SUV they were travelling in fell into a gorge, police said.
The accident reportedly took place near Yapik village when four people were travelling in an SUV, heading towards Aalo in West Siang district.
“The vehicle skidded off the road and fell 70-80 metres into the gorge between midnight and 1 am on Sunday,” said Sunny Wangsu, officer-in-charge of Tato police station.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Kumar Sain, 40, a businessman from Aalo.
As per reports, the three injured passengers are receiving treatment at Aalo Zonal Hospital. Meanwhile the body of the deceased has been sent to the district hospital in Tato for a post-mortem examination.
Police officials said that an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
