Guwahati: The VAANI Deaf Children’s Foundation recently hosted a conference in Assam’s Guwahati, bringing together stakeholders to explore ways to empower deaf children and their families.
The event, “Limitless Horizons: Holistic Pathways to Resilient Futures for Deaf Children and Their Families,” focused on building a more inclusive future.
The foundation’s work in early newborn screening, educational support, and vocational skill building has been making a real difference in the lives of hearing-impaired youth across India. The conference highlighted the importance of integrated support systems, parent leadership, and deaf youth empowerment.
Key highlights included discussions on newborn hearing screening, parent networks, and pathways for deaf youth to pursue higher education and employment.
