Guwahati:  Oil India Limited (OIL) successfully concluded its Saksham 2025-26 campaign in Guwahati after organizing a series of awareness activities across Pipeline Sphere (PLS) from February 1 to 15.

The nationwide fuel conservation campaign, held under the theme “Conserve Oil & Gas, Go Green”, aimed to promote responsible energy usage, fuel conservation, and adoption of healthy and sustainable lifestyles among employees and the community.

The campaign was inaugurated on February 1 at OIL’s Pipeline Headquarters, Narengi and at various pumping stations, where employees took the Saksham Pledge for conservation of petroleum and petroleum products. The pledge was administered by the Executive Director, who underscored the importance of fuel conservation and extended support for the activities planned.

As part of the initiative, cyclothons were organised on February 8 in Guwahati, Nagaon and Tezpur. The Guwahati Cyclothon was held at Shastri Maidan, OIL PLS Headquarters, witnessing participation from around 200 cyclists, including employees and officials.

In Nagaon and Tezpur, nearly 100 cyclists each joined joined the ride with the support of local cycling communities.

Participants were provided with Saksham T-shirts, administered the Saksham Pledge, and given refreshments and participation certificates after the rides. A Zumba session was also organised at Guwahati as warm-up activity, adding energy and enthusiasm to the events.

Continuing the momentum of Saksham activities, a walkathon was held on February 14 within the OIL Pipeline Sphere Headquarters at Narengi. The event began with a Zumba warm-up session and saw the participation of around 100 OIL employees.

The Walkathon was flagged off by Executive Director C. M. Borah, who along with IOUW Pipeline President Amulya Kalita, was felicitated on the occasion. The event emphasised the importance of walking as a simple, healthy, and fuel-efficient lifestyle choice.

Additionally, arrangements were made for vehicle emission checks and issuance of PUC certificates for OIL employees in association with a local emission testing centre, reinforcing the campaign’s focus on environmental responsibility and emission reduction.

The Valedictory Function of Saksham 2025-26 was held on February 15, marking the conclusion of the fortnight-long campaign.

Addressing the employees, Borah thanked them for their active participation and reiterated the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and stressed the need for fuel conservation through conscious and responsible daily life.

Throughout the campaign, employees and participants actively engaged in activities promoting sustainable mobility, energy conservation, and environmental awareness. The initiatives witnessed enthusiastic participation and strong commitment from the OIL fraternity.
