Shillong: An Interaction and Review Meeting with NSS Functionaries from across Meghalaya was held was successfully held on Friday at the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Shillong, to access ongoing activities and strengthen youth engagement initiatives in the state.
The meeting was attended by Nitesh Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Government of India, who interacted with the State NSS Officer, Programme Coordinator, and Programme Officers.

During the review, discussions were held on effective conduct of National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camps, improved documentation and reporting, optimal utilization of funds, and enhanced convergence with various Government schemes to maximize community impact.
The Additional Secretary appreciated the efforts of NSS units in Meghalaya and encouraged volunteers to continue serving society with discipline, commitment, and a spirit of leadership.

On the occasion, the Additional Secretary also formally released the posters of MY Bharat Budget Quest 2026, marking the launch of intensified outreach and publicity efforts in the State. The initiative aims to promote budget literacy, civic awareness, and informed participation among the youth.
The programme concluded with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening NSS activities and MY Bharat initiatives in Meghalaya for the holistic development of youth and communities.
