According to reports, he was undergoing treatment at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) in Shillong, where he passed away at around 6 am on Friday.
The injured miner has been identified as Dawa Sherpa, as per a report published in the Meghalaya Monitor.

To prevent further risk, the District Magistrate has issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the BNSS, restricting entry into hazardous and mining-affected zones.
In another incident, an unusual case of mistaken identity has come to light following the dynamite blast after a man who was declared dead was later found to be alive. The family of 44-year-old Shyambabu Singha had performed his last rites, believing he had died from injuries sustained in the February 5 explosion.
However, it was later discovered that they had mistakenly taken the body of another victim to their native place in Karimganj, Assam.
