Guwahati: Police have launched a detailed investigation into bomb threat emails sent to two schools in Guwahati, which were later found to be hoaxes, a senior official said on Saturday.
The officer said efforts are underway to trace the origin of the emails and determine whether similar threats were issued to other educational institutions in the city.
Investigators are examining multiple angles, including the possibility that additional schools may not have immediately noticed such messages due to the Saraswati Puja holiday and the weekend closure.

The threat emails were received on Friday by Delhi Public School, Ahomgaon, and Sanskriti – The Gurukul, coinciding with Saraswati Puja celebrations.
Following the alerts, bomb disposal squads conducted thorough searches of the school premises but found no explosives.
Emphasising that the matter is being treated with seriousness despite the threats turning out to be false, the officer said police are leaving nothing to chance and the investigation is continuing to identify those responsible.
