New Delhi: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday laid the foundation stone for the extension of Tripura Bhavan in New Delhi. The project, estimated to cost Rs 2.95 crore, aims to strengthen the infrastructure of the state guest house and improve facilities for people from Tripura visiting the national capital.

In a Facebook post, Saha said, “Laid the foundation stone for the extension project of Tripura Bhavan at Bir Tikendrajit Marg, New Delhi today. Under this project, six rooms and two hall rooms will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.95 crore.”

He added that the initiative would significantly enhance amenities for residents of Tripura who travel to Delhi for medical treatment, education, cultural activities, and business purposes. “This will strengthen Tripura Bhavan’s infrastructure and enhance facilities for our people visiting the national capital. We are committed to modern and efficient infrastructure for Viksit Tripura,” the chief minister stated.

Saha, who arrived in New Delhi on Sunday, also held a meeting with BJP national working president Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, he said, “Met BJP national working president Nitin Nabin ji in New Delhi on Sunday evening. Held detailed discussions on organisational matters and our state government’s development initiatives under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi ji.”

Despite the successful completion of organisational elections in Tripura, the BJP state unit has yet to appoint a new president. The party’s central leadership has requested incumbent president Rajib Bhattacharjee, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, to continue in the post for the time being.

Saha also announced that the state government will soon establish three new Tripura Bhavans in Dwarka in Delhi, Mumbai, and Telangana to cater to the growing needs of people from the state travelling outside Tripura.

He said the Dwarka Tripura Bhavan will be constructed on a 3,000-square-metre plot and will have 60 rooms equipped with modern infrastructure. In Mumbai, the new Bhavan is being built near major hospitals to support patients and their attendants from Tripura. He added that land has already been sanctioned for the Tripura Bhavan in Telangana.
