Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Friday urged the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) to expedite the clearance of several key projects pending with the ministry.
During a meeting with DoNER Secretary Chanchal Kumar in Aizawl, the Chief Minister reviewed various developmental projects currently being implemented in the state, according to an official statement.
Lalduhoma stressed the need for faster and simpler approval procedures, pointing out that delays in project clearances and fund sanctions often hamper timely execution.
Kumar appreciated the recently established ginger processing unit in Mizoram, observing that ginger cultivation serves as a major source of livelihood for a large number of farmers in the state.
Later in the day, the DoNER Secretary visited Serchhip district and inspected the construction of a cultural heritage centre at Kawlri Tlang, a project funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
