Guwahati: The Namibia senior women’s cricket team will play a four-match white-ball friendly series against Assam beginning January 8.

The series is part of a reciprocal international engagement between the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) and Cricket Namibia.

During the tour, the visiting side will face the Assam senior women’s team in two One-Day matches and two T20s, ACA secretary Sanatan Das said on Friday.

Das said that the international series marked an important milestone for Assam cricket, strengthening sporting ties between India and Namibia while providing a valuable platform for players from both teams to showcase their skills, competitiveness and the true spirit of the game.

The two one-day matches and the first T20 will be played at Mangaldai Stadium, while the final T20 is scheduled to be held at the ACA Cricket Academy Ground in Fulung, North Guwahati.

According to the itinerary, the Namibian women’s team will arrive in Guwahati on January 6, with January 7 set aside for practice and rest ahead of the series. The opening 50-over match will be played on January 8, followed by the second ODI at the same venue on January 9. The two T20 matches are scheduled for January 10 and 11, after which the visiting side will depart on January 12.

Last year, a 15-member Assam senior men’s team toured Namibia for a five-match 50-over series from June 18 to July 1.

The Assam senior women’s team also went on an overseas tour in 2025, playing five 50-over matches in Malaysia from July 5 to 16, underscoring the ACA’s sustained emphasis on providing international exposure to its players.
