Maligaon (Assam): Former students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Maligaon reunited on Sunday as the Pan KV Maligaon Alumni Association organised its much-anticipated alumni meet, drawing participants from across the country and overseas to celebrate shared memories and their lasting connection with the institution.
The programme began with the registration of alumni, during which mementos were presented to participants, setting a warm and nostalgic tone for the gathering.
The event was attended by Chief Guest Veer Bhadra Vishwakarma, Additional General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, and Guest of Honour Kanja Lochan Pathak, Principal of KV Maligaon, along with former teachers and family members of alumni.
The dignitaries were felicitated, followed by a ceremonial lamp-lighting to formally inaugurate the event.
Alumni Association president Angshuman Dey welcomed the gathering and extended greetings to former students and teachers.
Addressing the audience, Principal Pathak and the chief guest lauded the alumni for maintaining strong ties with their school and for their continued efforts to uphold the legacy of KV Maligaon.
Association secretary Ruma Chakraborty outlined the activities and initiatives undertaken by the alumni body in recent years, highlighting its role in strengthening engagement among former students and supporting the school community.
The meet took on an emotional note as former teachers and alumni shared memories from their student days, recalling moments that shaped their years at the school. A group photograph was also taken to commemorate the occasion.
During the programme, homage was paid to late Zubeen Garg and other departed teachers and alumni in recognition of their contributions.
In the afternoon session, Deputy Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Chandrashekhar Azad attended the event and inaugurated the cultural programme.
The cultural segment featured performances by present and former students, with music teacher Manakh Jyoti Das presenting popular Bollywood numbers.

Principal Pathak also performed on the harmonica, playing compositions by Bhupen Hazarika, Zubeen Garg and classic Hindi film songs. The programme was coordinated by Jubilee Bhattacharjee and her team.
Another major highlight of the day was the election of the Alumni Association’s new 15-member executive committee.
The elections were conducted through a combination of online and offline voting, supervised by teachers and senior alumni, with the results announced during the concluding session.
The event was organised under the leadership of Lt Col Sanjib Hazarika (Retd.) and his team.
The alumni meet concluded with participants expressing renewed bonds, fond memories and a shared commitment to contribute to the future growth of Pan KV Maligaon.
