Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday said Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured him that all those involved in the murder of a young Tripura resident in Dehradun will be arrested and brought to justice.
The assurance comes in connection with the killing of 24-year-old Angel Chakma, a resident of Nandannagar in West Tripura district, who was allegedly attacked by a group of six people in Dehradun on December 9 after he objected to a racial slur.
Chakma, a final-semester MBA student, later succumbed to his injuries on December 26 while undergoing treatment at Graphic Era Hospital.
Speaking to reporters at Hezamara in West Tripura, Saha said he had personally spoken to Dhami regarding what he described as a tragic and shocking incident involving a student from Tripura.
According to Saha, the Uttarakhand chief minister informed him that five of the accused have already been arrested, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspect.
