Guwahati: Assam athlete Himakhi Devi made her mark at the 14th National Para Judo Championship 2025 in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, winning two medals in the girls’ categories.”
The championship, held from December 19-23, was organised by the Rajasthan Blind and Para Judo Association under the auspices of the Indian Blind and Para Judo Association (IBPJA).
Assam was represented by three participants at the national-level event—Himhaki Devi, Bishal Baishya and Rahul Das.
Himhaki Devi delivered an impressive performance, clinching a gold medal in the Youth Girls category (46 kg) and a silver medal in the Junior Girls category (44 kg).
The double-medal haul highlighted Assam’s presence at the championship, which brought together para judokas from across the country.
Meanwhile, Nagaland’s Odimongba brought pride to the state by securing a bronze medal in the 64 kg Senior Men’s category at the championship.
Competing against top athletes from across the country, Odimongba displayed remarkable determination and skill to clinch a podium finish. His achievement underscores Nagaland’s growing presence in national para-sports.
