Guwahati: State-run energy company NTPC has signed an agreement with the Manipur government to deliver nutritional assistance to 1,800 tuberculosis patients and their families across 16 districts, officials said on Saturday.
Under the pact, NTPC will function as a ‘Nikshay Mitra’ — a donor partner — under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which aims for a TB-free India.
The initiative falls under the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, with a focus on healthcare support and disease prevention.

NTPC Bongaigaon will execute the project, ensuring regular distribution of nutrition kits and close coordination with beneficiaries for the duration of the intervention.
Kengoo Zuringla, CEO of the State Health Agency in Manipur, said the collaboration would help ease the burden on families battling the disease and strengthen the state’s fight against tuberculosis.
