Itanagar: A 19-year-old student was found dead inside the washroom of St. Xavier’s International School in Aalo, West Siang district, on Sunday morning, police said.
The deceased, identified as Tato Podo, a Class 11 student from Gapur village in Shi-Yomi district, was discovered by two fellow hostel residents who noticed the washroom door locked from inside.
When they managed to force it open, they found Podo lying unconscious on the floor with a necktie fastened around his neck and tied to the door frame.
School authorities immediately alerted the police, following which a team led by Sub-Inspector A. Pangge reached the spot.
The area was documented through video and photographs before the body was taken to Aalo General Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

According to Officer-in-Charge Yomken Riram, a preliminary inquiry and CCTV footage review found no evidence of foul play.
Family members, after examining the CCTV recordings, expressed their belief that the death was self-inflicted and requested that no post-mortem be conducted.
Acting on their written application, police handed over the body to the family for final rites.
Podo’s last rites are scheduled to be held on Monday in his native village in Shi-Yomi district.
