Shillong: East Shillong legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh has been appointed as Adviser to the Meghalaya government.
The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued on November 3 by Commissioner and Secretary C.V.D. Diengdoh of the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department.
As per the notification, Lyngdoh will receive benefits and facilities under the “Category A+” classification, in accordance with the Finance Department’s Office Memorandum dated August 17, 2023.

Her new role comes following the denotification of the late Dr. D.D. Lapang, former chief minister, who previously served as Adviser to the MDA government.
Officials said that those appointed under Category A are entitled to an honorarium of Rs 10,000 per month, a government-allotted vehicle with driver (or reimbursement for hired transport at Rs 400 per day), travel and dearness allowances up to Rs 15,000 per month, house rent allowance of Rs 10,000, electricity allowance of Rs 1,000, and hospitality expenses of Rs 2,000 monthly.
