Guwahati: The Department of School Education and Literacy, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC) have jointly organized a two-day “Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE)” for District Education Officers and DIET members.
The objective of this workshop is to enhance the skills of district-level officials in the areas of innovation, creativity, design thinking, and entrepreneurship, in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Organized in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, known for its work in entrepreneurship education, the Phase-1 IDE Bootcamp for PM SHRI schools is being held from October 30 to 31, 2025, at Assam down town University (AdtU), Guwahati.
Prof. Sitharam T.G., Chairman, AICTE; Dheeraj Sahu, Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy; and Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE, jointly inaugurated the “Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE)”.
At the state level, the workshop was inaugurated by Dr. (Prof.) N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of AdtU, alongside Khanindra Das, Officer on Special Duty, Samagra Shiksha Assam; Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Senior Accounts Officer, AICTE, New Delhi; Nitin Kumar, Startup Fellow, MoE Innovation Cell; Anbumathi M, Founder, Resources Life Science and Master Trainer, Wadhwani Foundation; and Dr. Arvind Deshmukh, Consultant, Wadhwani Foundation. Over 60 District Education Officers and DIET members participated in the event.
“Today’s students must be more than learners—they must be innovators. The challenges facing our regions and our world demand fresh ideas, bold thinking, and the courage to reimagine what’s possible. The bootcamp for the District Elementary Education Officers and DIET lecturers organized by AICTE at AdtU is a major step towards achieving this goal,” says Dr. Sunandan Baruah, Director, Innovation, Startup and Acceleration (DISA), Assam down town University.
Nitin Kumar, Nodal Officer, MoE Innovation Cell, stated, “Empowering educators to think creatively is the first step toward building a nation that not only learns but innovates — the true spirit of Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
The event featured a series of group activities, immersive working sessions, and engaging workshops, all tailored to ignite creativity and problem-solving skills.

With an emphasis on fostering collaboration and interactive learning, participants explored into the “why,” “what,” and “how” of innovation.
Throughout the program, attendees gained valuable insights into the significance of innovation in education, uncover practical strategies for driving change, and harness the power of entrepreneurial thinking.
