Guwahati: The Indian Air Force will organise an air show, displaying its range of fighter and transport aircraft, in Guwahati on November 9 as part of the 93rd Air Force Day celebrations.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the state on November 9 to attend the grand air show in the city.
The event will showcase the precision, professionalism and prowess of the IAF, offering citizens “a rare opportunity” to witness the nation’s aerial might.
The air show will feature as many as 150 aircraft, including Rafale, Sukhoi, and MiG fighter jets.
The grand event will be held at Lachit Ghat, on the banks of the Brahmaputra River, where the skies above Guwahati are set to dazzle with a breathtaking display of aerial skill, precision, and power.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “On November 9, the Union Defence Minister will attend a mega Air Show at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, wherein 150 planes of the Indian Air Force will display their strength — including Rafales, Sukhois, and MiGs. This landmark show will form part of the IAF’s Air Force Day celebrations in the Northeast, marking the first such large-scale flying display in the region.”
Featuring frontline fighter aircraft, transport aircraft and helicopters flying in coordinated formations, the display promises a visual symphony of speed, skill and synchronization.
The main event, scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., will feature a full-scale aerial display by the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) over the River Brahmaputra.

Several vantage points are being finalized along both banks of the Brahmaputra from Saraighat Bridge towards Guwahati city, including the newly developed 1.2 km riverfront at Uzan Bazar.
