Under the Digital Tripura initiative, the state government, in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education, has set up high-speed, secure Wi-Fi networks across all Government Degree Colleges to promote digital learning, research, and accessibility.

The facility was launched today for 11 Government Degree Colleges as part of the second phase, following its earlier implementation in 19 colleges.

The first phase of the initiative, launched in October 2024, connected 19 colleges with a 100 Mbps backbone network. The newly inaugurated second phase extends connectivity to the remaining 11 colleges, each equipped with an average of 20 wireless access points, ensuring seamless campuswide coverage.

With an investment of Rs. 12.32 crore, the project provides reliable internet access to students, faculty, and staff, marking a major step toward transforming higher education in Tripura.

This initiative not only bridges the digital divide but also encourages collaboration, innovation, and digital literacy among students.
