Guwahati: The inaugural edition of ‘Purvca Samvad 2025 – Conversations for Sustainable Urban Futures’ will be held on November 7, 2025, at the NEDFi Auditorium, Guwahati.
Organised by the Purvca Foundation, the one-day forum will focus on “Sustainable Urban Mobility: Public Transport, Walking & Cycling” and aims to foster dialogue on cleaner, safer, and more inclusive cities in the region.
The event will bring together government officials, academicians, media professionals, civil society representatives, industry and mobility experts, students, and citizens to discuss public transportation, walking, and cycling in Guwahati and the broader Northeast.
Sessions at Purvca Samvad 2025 will include panel discussions, spotlight presentations, and idea-sharing segments on topics such as mobility justice, the impact of air pollution and climate change on transportation choices, and creating safe streets for pedestrians and cyclists.
“Our cities are growing rapidly — congestion is rising, pollution is worsening, and public spaces are increasingly unsafe. Mobility must shift toward safer, inclusive, and low-carbon options. Through Samvad, we aim to create a platform where ideas can translate into real action,” said Arshel Akhter, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Purvca Foundation.

An “Ideas for Mobility Solutions” segment will provide a space for citizens and young innovators to present practical solutions to urban transportation challenges.
