Agartala: Security forces in Tripura have detained 21 illegal immigrants, including 10 Rohingyas, during intensified checks ahead of the festive season, the Border Security Force (BSF) said on Sunday.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, BSF teams, in coordination with the state police and the Government Railway Police, intercepted 11 individuals at Agartala Railway Station in West Tripura district.
Preliminary investigation revealed that all 11 were Bangladeshi nationals who had entered India illegally and were planning to travel to other parts of the country, the BSF said in a statement.

In a separate operation in North Tripura district, BSF personnel apprehended 10 Rohingya migrants — including women and children — attempting to cross into Bangladesh.
During questioning, they reportedly confessed to having travelled from Delhi and Jammu en route to Moulvibazar in Bangladesh.
The BSF said the operations reflect its strengthened vigilance against infiltration, human trafficking, and cross-border crimes during the festive period.
