Guwahati: Industrialist Gautam Adani and his son Jeet visited the residence of late singer-composer Zubeen Garg in Guwahati on Sunday evening to pay their respects to the Assamese cultural icon.
Adani, accompanied by senior officials of the Adani Group, arrived at Garg’s Kahilipara home around 9 pm and offered floral tributes.
He and his son spent nearly 30 minutes with Garg’s family, consoling his wife Garima Saikia Garg and expressing sorrow over the musician’s sudden passing.
“Gautam Adani and his son Jeet came to offer their condolences to Assam’s icon. They sat with Garima for some time and conveyed their grief over his untimely demise,” an official said.

Zubeen Garg, one of Assam’s most celebrated singers and composers, died in Singapore on September 19 after drowning while swimming in the sea.
His death has sparked widespread mourning across the region and beyond.
Adani shared Garg’s photo on X followed by caption: “Yesterday, in Guwahati, I met with the family of Zubeen Garg, a true legend whose music became the heartbeat of the Northeast and whose love for the people will forever resonate across generations. May his music and memories continue to inspire millions, and may his noble soul rest in peace.”
