Zubeen Garg’s last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ to release October 31, confirms wife Garima

Guwahati: Garima Saikia, wife of singer, composer and actor Zubeen Garg, has said that his last film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ is set to be released by the makers on October 31.

Garima said Zubeen Garg was deeply passionate about his film, which is now in the post-production stage.

She said, “We were working on Roi Roi Binale, which will be his last film, and he was very passionate about it. He had planned to release it on October 31, so now we feel we must continue the work on the film and honour the date he had envisioned.”

Garima expressed regret over not being able to complete Zubeen Garg’s voice dubbing for the film following his untimely death in Singapore, describing it as a “void” in the project.

“I regret that his voice dubbing did not happen because he had also acted in this film and in a very different role. He was very excited about it. He would have come as a blind artist. So it’s a purely musical love story. I think people would love it, too. But we couldn’t dub his voice. So that will be a void in the film. But other music and everything was done,” added Garima.

Zubeen Garg was cremated with full state honours in Kamarkuchi on the outskirts of Guwahati on Tuesday. Hundreds gathered at the crematorium to bid a heartfelt farewell to the beloved singer.

The 52-year-old icon of Assam passed away in Singapore on September 19 after an alleged drowning incident.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Director General of Police to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of the singer and cultural icon. The decision follows widespread outrage and over 60 FIRs lodged across Assam against organizers of the Northeast India Festival, which Garg had travelled to attend.
