Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bosiram Siram on Wednesday placed the state’s growing ‘Vote Chori’ campaign at the centre of discussions during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Patna.

Siram briefed top Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and AICC general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal, on the rising public anger in Arunachal Pradesh against the BJP over alleged electoral malpractice.

According to a party statement, Siram accused the BJP of building its government on “stolen mandates” and “rigged voter lists.” He further alleged that the Centre’s “special intensive revision” was another “dirty trick” designed to manipulate electoral rolls in the state.

Siram underlined that the ‘Vote Chori’ slogan has rapidly gained traction across Arunachal Pradesh, spreading widely on social media and symbolising public frustration over the BJP’s alleged manipulation of democratic processes.

Thanking Rahul Gandhi for initiating the campaign, Siram described it as “a turning point in the nation’s democratic struggle” and said it had transformed into a national movement for electoral justice.

He highlighted that the Arunachal unit of the Congress is leading grassroots initiatives, including door-to-door campaigns, citizen engagement, and signature drives to mobilise public support for the movement.

Siram’s presentation reportedly received appreciation from the CWC, with senior leaders lauding the APCC’s innovative strategies and strong on-ground mobilisation.
